Dear friends and family, We have some friends that we met in China who are in Uganda working on paperwork to bring home a baby from there. While there this week, Jason took some photos of my kids and delivered the care packages we had mailed to them. We are hoping the photos will come tonight via email. This morning right before getting out of bed, I was laying there praying and asked God to just make a way and show us breakthrough and give direction about the kids in Africa. A few minutes later my phone rang and it was Hedda with this news below and telling me that she felt strongly and didn't know why but that I was to go to Africa very soon. Then the good news is is that Jason ran into two people who know this one person who works in immigration can issue passports through. Jason is meeting with him tomorrow and then will let me know if the man thinks he can get the passports. Coincidence? I don't think so. God setting up something? Maybe. What is so neat in this story is that When Duane and I met Jason and Hedda in China, they are the ones that mentioned they had friends in Uganda working and then 3 months later called us telling us about 2 kids who needed Duane and I as their parents. they were so adamant about it that we did pray and God showed us that indeed they were. Now They are in Uganda working on an adoption after following ours. A full circle. Anyhow pray about this with us over the next 24 hours. We believe God can move mountains! As a final note: Today as I was running errands, I took a back road that I rarely use any more and it was there I saw it and knew God was giving me a word of encouragement. It was on our local high school Marquee . "Triumph is nearest when defeat seems inescapable " Daring to Hope, Melissa and Duane!
Welcome to the Carter blog. There once were 5 of us, then we grew to 11, then 14 for a short period and now are about to be 12. Some may say we are actually ONE EGG SHORT OF A DOZEN for choosing to have a large family. We hurt and cry and sometimes yell but then again we laugh, forgive, and have fun much more! We call ourselves FAMILY. Join us on the adventures we seem to fall into on our adoption journeys and family life. You never know what you will find!
