I QUIT MY MOMMY JOB!

Do you ever get tired of being a mommy? Well, I do on plenty of days and it just could be the fact that I have a lot of kiddos. I turn selfish and exasperated and want just me time! I usually  get over it and move on.  But then I get this crazy notion that we should be like the Dugger family and work and live all in complete harmony where everyone just loves their chore assigned to them and know that it is all for the good of the family so they are willing to be unselfish and do what needs to be done to help their awesome parents out.  I forget that most of my children are not birthed by me and I forget that they have issues. I forget the grace factor and turn my grace faucet off.  When I am in this Utopia way of thinking I then become irrational.  I think things need to be changed to a certain way ( which they do) and that they should be done immediately. I think that the Carter family really should be THE CARTER UNITED NATIONS.  
There is truth to that things need to change and kids need not be lazy and that they need to think outside themselves. But forcing them to do it NEVER works. Theses kids are survivors! I mean they can withstand anything!  So in one of my crazy ideas to get a reaction. I QUIT/RESIGNED on the basis of an unfriendly and uncooperative environment.  This time I wrote a Theses  and like Martin Luther did in 1517 by writing his 95 Theses and hung it on the door of the church, I wrote mine and hung it around several places in the house where it was sure not to be missed. I then proceeded to  cook Chicken Lettuce Wraps for dinner for Duane and I and the two very young littles.  Much to the kids surprise, I laid out PB&J, Bread, leftover cheese straws, and leftover strawberry pie. the two littles wanted the PB&J, so I had to give that to them. LOL!  Duane read my THESES at Dinner.  (Which I will post in this blog). Unfortunately most thought it was a joke, Some got offended and took it personally. Some cared less. Me? I felt free and went outside to watch the sunset with my hubby.  

DEAR FAMILY, 

THIS IS A LETTER TO LET YOU KNOW THAT I CANNOT LIVE THIS WAY ANYMORE.  I’VE GIVEN FULLY TO EACH ONE OF YOU OVER THE PAST YEARS AND THE WAY I FEEL IS THAT YES YOU DO ENJOY IT.  YOU ALL ACT LIKE YOU LIVE IN A RESORT AND DO NOT HAVE TO CARE FOR ANY OF IT OR ANYONE ELSE IN THIS FAMILY. 

WHAT YOU EXPECT:  

1. FOOD IN THE PANTRY AND IN THE REFRIGERATOR AND ON THE TABLE FOR MEALS
2. LUNCHES MADE FOR SCHOOL OR IN THE PANTRY
3. THE ELECTRICITY TO STAY ON SO YOUR ROOM CAN BE COOL OR HOT DEPENDING ON THE WEATHER
4. YOUR CLOTHES TO BE WASHED AND READY WHENEVER YOU NEED THEM
5. YOUR STUFF TO BE GUARDED 24 HOURS A DAY BY ME - SO YOU CAN BE HAPPY
6. YOUR HOUSE THAT YOU LIVE IN TO BE DECENT

 AT ALL TIMES SO YOU CAN STORE YOUR STUFF

1. A POOL TO SWIM IN THAT IS ALWAYS CLEAN AND READY FOR ANYTIME YOU WANT TO INVITE YOUR FRIENDS OVER 
2. A YARD THAT ALWAYS LOOKS GOOD SO THAT YOU CAN ENJOY THE VIEW AND GRASS TO RUN BAREFEET IN BUT SHORT ENOUGH SO YOU WANT HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT SNAKES
3. A LIFE OF LEISURE AND RELAXATION SO THAT YOU CAN DO WHATEVER YOU WANT WHENEVER YOU WANT
4. YOU WANT A CONCERIGE TO ARRANGE YOUR DAY, PAY FOR YOUR EXPENDITURES AND TAKE CARE OF ALL THE THINGS YOU WANT TO DO. 
5. YOU EXPECT YOUR DAD TO BE GONE 25 DAYS OUT OF THE MONTH GETTING UP EARLIER THAN ANY OF YOU AND COMING HOME LATE TO PROVIDE ALL THESE THINGS
6. A PERSONAL ASSISTANT TO DECIDE HOW YOU SHOULD DRESS, BUY YOUR CLOTHES, TAKE YOU SHOPPING ARRANGE FOR RIDES FOR YOU AND YOUR FRIENDS. 
7. A PERSONAL COUNSELOR TO MEET ALL YOUR EMOTIONAL NEEDS AS THEY ARISE
8. A POLICE AND JUDGE TO SETTLE ALL YOUR DISPUTES BETWEEN YOU AND YOUR SIBLINGS
9. A LIVE IN NURSE AND MEDICAL DOCTOR TO TAKE CARE OF ALL OF YOUR THINGS
10. A NEVER ENDING SUPPLY OF MONEY TO REPLACE EVERY BROKEN COMPUTER, VACUUM CLEANER, THINGS OF BEAUTY, WASHING MACHINES, LAWN MOWERS, WEED EATERS, CHRISTMAS GIFTS, TABLETS, ITOUCHES AND IPODS, TOYS, FURNITURE ETC.... 
11. YOU EACH EXPECT THE OTHER PERSON TO SERVE YOU AND NO ONE SERVES ANOTHER PERSON. 
12. YOU EXPECT TO HAVE VACATIONS DESPITE THE CONTINUOUS ONE YOU LIVE IN EVERY DAY
13. YOU EXPECT TO BE SERVED EVERYDAY AND GIVE NO THOUGHT OR VERY LITTLE TO SERVING YOUR FAMILY

YOU EXPECT ALL OF THIS AT THE COST OF TWO PEOPLE

YOUR PARENTS

 WE YOUR PARENTS ARE TIRED AND WEARY.  TODAY WE WANT TO QUIT. TODAY IS THE DAY WE FEEL WE CAN’T CONTINUE. THIS HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH HOW MUCH WE LOVE YOU BECAUSE WE LOVE YOU DEARLY AND WOULD GIVE OUR LIVES FOR YOU.  IT HAS TO DO WITH WEARINESS AND REPEATING THE SAME PATTERNS FOR YEARS WITH EACH OF YOU.  

WHAT WE EXPECT FROM YOU IS NOT MUCH. 

WE WANT THE THINGS YOU WANT TOO. WE WANT TO ENJOY LIFE AS WELL BUT WE CANNOT KEEP ON THIS ROAD OF KEEPING YOU UP IN EVERY AREA. WE ARE DONE. WE HAVE TRIED MANY AVENUES  

HERE IS THE BASICS OF

 WHAT WE EXPECT FROM YOU.

1. TO TAKE OWNERSHIP OF OUR UNIT AS A FAMILY,  AS A TEAM

(WHAT CAN YOU DO TO MAKE THIS FAMILY A BETTER PLACE TO LIVE AND GROW ?) 

1. TO TREAT OTHERS  IN THIS HOUSE WITH KINDNESS AND VALUE THEM NO MATTER WHAT STAGE THEY ARE A IN THIER LIVES.
2. FOR OLDER KIDS TO STEP UP TO THE PLATE TO HELP WITH YOUNGER KIDS INCLUDING KEEPING THEM OCCUPIED SO MOM AND DAD CAN GET THINGS DONE SOMETIMES - IF YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN ; ) 

1. TO STAY WITHIN THE BOUNDARIES REGARDING RELATIONSHIPS WITH YOUR SIBLINGS AND FRIENDS ,MUSIC AND MEDIA
2. TO KEEP YOUR PERSONAL AREAS ( ROOMS) CLEANED THROUGHOUT THE WEEK
3. TO DO YOUR CHORES AS LISTED DOWN TO EVERY DETAIL TAKING PRIDE  IN THE WORK YOU DO
4. TO GET YOUR CHORES DONE IN A TIMELY MANNER EARLY IN THE DAY
5. TO GROW YOURSELF ACADEMICALLY AND DO MORE THAN PLAY MEDIA AND FILL YOUR HEARTS AND MINDS WITH GARBAGE THAT IS NOT NURTURING TO YOUR SOUL. 
6. TO FOLLOW THE BOUNDARIES SET DOWN BEFORE YOU EACH INDIVIDUALLY AND NOT GET JEALOUS BECAUSE SOMEONE ELSE IS  GETTING SOMETHING OR DOING SOMETHING AND YOU DON’T GET TO. 

SO, THERE IT IS. WE HAVE TRIED EVERYTHING TO PROMOTE EXCELLENCE AND UNITY IN THIS FAMILY.   WE ARE PRETTY MUCH OUT OF OPTIONS. 

IN REAL LIFE  COMPANY IS ONLY AS GOOD AS ITS EMPLOYEES WANT TO MAKE IT. 

SO IS A FAMILY. 

WHAT CAN WE DO TO INCORPORATE RESPONSIBILITY, INTEGRITY AND LOVE INTO YOUR LIVES???? 

WE HAVE RUN OUT OF IDEAS AND 

TODAY..... WE PARENTS DECLARE WE ARE TIRED AND OVER THIS JOB. 

THANKS FOR ALL THE MATERIAL SO THAT WE CAN WRITE A GOOD BOOK AND HAVE MONEY TO LIVE OFF OF BECAUSE WE SPENT ALL OF OUR RETIREMENT SAVING YOUR LIFE.

As a disclaimer, this is just what I did  in my family in a moment of  parenting desperation. We did tell the kids if certain parts of the Theses does not apply to you then congratulate yourself. Well Done.  We parent our kids with love from the bottom of our hearts. 

UPDATE: I got a new job of being mommy again today and so far day 1 is going great. Before 9 am, I got lots of hugs and kisses from two littles and one bigger fixed them breakfast, people got up when they were asked to and I see chores getting done. I've fixed one nail and hammered thumb and got the time to write a blog and people are communicating with me. The pay did not change though, but for now, it's enough.
