How Does the Tooth Fairy Get my Tooth?

Eli preparing the tooth and note before bed

Too excited to go to sleep

I don't think he is really asleep!

The tooth pays off!

He's growing up!

Well, another week has passed and I can't believe it! Once again it was filled with dentist appointments, decluttering the last 4 rooms and getting ready for the originally planned yard sale this past weekend.
I had to take Eli and Maggie back to the dentist to finish getting their fillings. Eli has had a loose tooth for about 2 weeks and we had not been able to pull it out. The new tooth was already coming in behind it and Dr. Madasu thought we really needed to get it pulled. since his mouth was already numb, she tried but Eli didn't like it too much. She then gave me a gauze and while he was preoccupied with Dora on the TV, I reached in and twisted it like Dr. M told me too. Yeah!!! Out came the tooth and a shocked look on Eli's face!
Dr. M then got Eli a green treasure box and put his tooth in it and he was happy.
He was really excited about learning that the Tooth Fairy came and gave you money. It seemed like a zillion questions came out as he tried to figure it out. We finally convinced him to trust us. "You go to sleep, and the Tooth Fairy will come. We promise."
Eli dictated a note to the tooth Fairy. It read: "Dear Tooth Fairy, Please take my tooth but leave the green treasure box. Please leave me lots of money. Thanks, Eli"
I have never seen a more excited little boy! The thought of money to spend, just thrilled his heart!
The next morning, as Duane left for work, I heard the following conversation,
Eli: "Hey Daddy! The tooth Fairy came! Look, I have lots of money! Can you read the note she left for me?"
Duane: "Wow! That is a lot of money. " Let's see, It says, "Eli, Have fun spending your money."
"Eli,Did you pee in your bed?"
Eli: "No I didn't !!! "
D: "Well, ok! Good job. I have to go to work now. See you later."
Eli:"Bye Daddy!"
A little later when I got out of bed, (Duane leaves too early for me to get up) Eli came running to me, excitedly explaining about his money and he asked me to read the note again.
I did and he got a wrinkled inquisitive look on his face. "That is not all she said."
"Yes it is", I replied.
Nuhunh! Daddy said it says, "Eli, hope you have fun spending your money. Did you pee in the bed?"
I burst out laughing and told him that that was not what it said but that Daddy was asking him the question about his bed.!
"Oh," he said. I thought the tooth fairy wanted to know that!
He looks so cute sporting his first gap. Wow! they grow up too soon!

P.S. How come when we get old and start losing our teeth, does the tooth fairy not bring us money?

What happened to last week? Where did it go?

These pics were taken with my cell phone so the quality is not good.
This is Eli at the dentist.

Ben and Maggie getting ready to unload the 2nd and 3rd cart into the van
Good thing we didn't have all the kids, The seats were full too!

After our yard sale last weekend, I was pooped! Sunday was a day of rest and I ended up taking a really long nap. Come Monday morning, it was school for us again, Tuesday was homeschool co-op, Wednesday was school again, Thursday was take 3 kids and myself to the dentist again to get their cavities filled and my teeth cleaned. I was so thankful that I had no cavities! Eli did awesomely well for his first time having a filling and Seora was very brave even when they numbed her jaw. I think watching QVC on the ceiling helped. Friday came and after morning break the kids pleaded to quit school for the day. Some other schools were out Friday as well and Graham had playing on his mind so I relented and let him. Thursday afternoon, I spent about 1 1/2 hours making a grocery list and ordering it with click and pull from Sam's. It was tiring because I had to make the list by searching for the product and then place the order before 5pm for pickup the next day. I made it with 10 minutes to spare! Whew! I had pretty much let all the pantries and freezers run dry and so we NEEDED food! I wasn't sure how much more creative I could be with a can of tomato paste and pasta!
But it was much more comfortable as I sat in my big comfy chair doing it than walking around Sam's on every aisle looking for what I needed. Typically it takes me 3-4 hours just to shop in Sam's. We only shop once a month except for bread, milk and fresh veggies and fruit and we do that every other week. I just don't have time to go every week. It actually saves us money by doing it that way.
The real reason I let school out early was because I needed to go to Sam's to get my food and to Aldi's to get some other things. I loaded up the coolers and took Ben and Maggie to help me and off we went to gather groceries.
I love Click and Pull. I shop in my chair in my living room, someone else pulls the list for me for free, loads it up in carts, and I go in and pay. I load it into my van and Voila it is done!
Now the packing it into the van is a chore because I have a perfectionist son who has to have everything symmetrical and there are a lot of items to get symmetrical. So how many items did we get? ! 101! Cases that is! Minus a few cantelopes.
Anyway, we got the van loaded and headed home because we had already gone to Aldi's.
When we arrived home, I tooted my horn for all to come and help unload and with all of us working we had it unloaded and put away in no time.
So from the point of leaving my house, going to Sam's and Aldi's and unloading and putting up we managed it all in about 3 hours! That's a record! Think they will put me in the Guiness Book Of World Records? Now next time, I go to click and pull, I will already have my list made and will just have to purchase. That is if I will remember to go online first.
One of these days, I will make a list of how much this household goes through in a month or week. I have had several people ask.
Saturday, I spent most of the day having me time. I did one of my favorite things to do. I went to my monthly art workshop. I actually finished one painting and started on 2 more. Sunday was spent with friends and family and that brings us back around to Monday.... We woke up and started school. Oh, oops, No we didn't!.... I let them out again. They convinced me it was a holiday or something. They must've been right 'cause the mail didn't run.

Clean teeth we have!

The headlines in the local paper shocked everyone today!
"LOCAL DENTIST HAS TO BLOCK OFF ONE MORNING TO SEE AN ENTIRE FAMILY!"

Well, I am just kidding about the headlines in our local paper but we were at the dentist from 8am-11am for appointments for all six of the kids this past Thursday. (YES, I finally called the dentist and got them scheduled. Give me a break. I had planned doing it in January and so I am only 10 months late. You know I was in Africa the first 4 months of the year and so I do have a really good excuse.) And I did get to talk to a lady who has been wanting to adopt. So it all was successful.
The night before the dentist was terrible. In front of me loomed a pile of paperwork for new patients of the dentist! The lady from the office had been nice enough to direct me to their website to print off all the forms before we came so I wouldn't have to do there.
with 6 kids, that meant a lot of paperwork. About 35 pages worth! ugh.
I was sitting there staring at this and wishing I didn't have to do it, when I had a great idea!
I filled out all the repetitive info that all 6 needed on their forms on one form and then went and photocopied it. Genius!!!
Then all I had left to do was fill in names and bdays, circle yes or no on medical histories and sign them. I only made one copy of the privacy formed and signed it. Do they really need to know that I read the privacy notice 6 times? Voila! It was done. Oh, and on my address, I saved some handwriting by putting a mailing label on there! There you have it, I may be lazy but I'm creative and see it as effiency! LOL
Back to the dentist. Only three of the kids had cavities. I thought that was good as they had not been in 2 years. (I know, I know, I am a bad mom). Eli did great for it being his first time. The hygienist with him was awesome and he was full of questions about all the equipment and loved the little vacuum.
Seora was brave though she did not like the dentist at all.
Ben surprised me by having no cavities and no plaque buildup. (It must have been that electric toothbrush he bought a couple of months ago or maybe he scrubbed all the plaque off to impress a girl.) Ben, Is it a girl??? I know you are reading this. You better tell your Mama!
Anyway, After 3 hours in there, we were glad to leave. They all did so good, I thought about taking them to get ice cream but then the little tooth fairy whispered in my ear, "You bad mother! They just got their teeth cleaned, you can't give them ice cream! It is full of sugar!"
I quickly repented and was glad I didn't shout out, "Who wants Ice Cream!?"
So we took a vote. Pizza, Mexican or BBQ??? We went Mexican and I felt like a good mother as I watched my kids with their bright white smiles eat their nachos.
